Emmanuel Junior Church
Junior church is where most of the fun happens on a Sunday morning, as we try to put across our message in an interesting and lively manner, relevant to today's children.
The fun is not just limited to Sundays as we have outings and other activities going on throughout the year.
After two hymns/songs and a short children's address the Junior Church leave the 10.30am service to go to their own rooms for their activities. They are split up into groups dependent on age -
- Creche for babies and toddlers
- Primary and Beginners for children 3-5 years
- Juniors for children 6-8 years
- Seniors for children 9-11 years
- Young people for youngsters 12-16 years
In addition we have a youth fellowship that meets fortnightly on a Sunday afternoon in peoples houses for the 12-18yrs. As well as having fellowship together they have games, refreshments, discussions, they go on a holiday together and also to some of the national festivals such as Greenbelt and Breakout. They have also prepared and led both morning and evening services.
We are committed to an ecumenical outlook and our youngsters attend a Christian live worship event held monthly with youngsters from other churches.
Sometimes we have all age worship - about once a quarter - which is a shorter service geared for the needs of the children and young people. (though still enjoyed by the adults!) Also about once a quarter the children join the adults at the end of the service to share the Communion.
We are a lively and forward looking part of the church and always looking for new members.
